American-Palestinian Adolescent Freed After Nine Months in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian youth who spent nine months in Israel's custody without charge was released.
The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention in February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.
The US state department expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Currently aged sixteen, needed medical care for treatment immediately after release, family members reported.
Family described him as visibly pale and thin, and experiencing medical problems developed during imprisonment.
In a statement, the youth's uncle spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".
The uncle, Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"Currently, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives the immediate medical attention he requires following exposure to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances over several months."
The state department stated they would maintain to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.
{"American leadership has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," the department emphasized.
Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to the state department and the White House, urging greater action to release him.
The father, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop in Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt to throwing stones after being assaulted by soldiers.
There were no visits or communicated with his son since the arrest, learning information solely what had happened to him via legal paperwork.
The teenager remained absent formal charges in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.
It is also home to mature inmates, including individuals found guilty of serious terrorism offences and murder.
An estimated 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, based on prison authority data.
Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, as well as the United Nations, report instances of mistreatment and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, family representatives announced relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin Sayfollah Musallet.

Both young men collaborated in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.
