Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” are unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about who she should tell her contacts to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The news release states that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

In August, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche attend a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, family or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the questions by 24 November.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
